Nnamdi Kanu: Group Gives Ultimatum to Buhari
A
Group, Biafra Shadow Government, with headquarter in Spain, has
threatened to invoke Article 51 of the United Nation’s Charter to
defend the rights of protesters arrested and detained over Nnamdi Kanu.
In a press release obtained by IGBERE TV, it expressed support for protesters allegedly arrested during recent protests across some South East and South South cities.
In the United Nations Charter, Article 51 reads: “Nothing in the present
Charter shall impair the inherent right of individual or collective
self-defence if an armed attack occurs against a member of the United
Nations, until the Security Council has taken measures necessary to
maintain international peace and security.
Measures taken by members in the exercise of this right of self-defence
shall be immediately reported to the Security Council and shall not in
any way affect the authority and responsibility of the Security Council
under the present Charter to take at any time, such action as it deems
necessary in order to maintain or restore international peace and
security”.
It called on the League of Nations and the United Nations to condemn the abduction of Biafrans by Nigeria.
“We stand with Biafra Zionists, Movement for the Actualization of the
Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Biafra Liberation Council (BLC),
Biafra National Youth League (BNYL), Biafra Foundation, Biafra Congress,
Bilie Human Rights Initiative (BHRI) and the entire indigenous people
in the world in condemning this evil”, it said.
