BIAFRA : POLICE ARREST AND TORUTURED IPOB MEMBERS RETURNING FROM BURIAL OF A MEMBER MURDERED BY NIGERIA POLICE AND ARMY

BIAFRA : POLICE ARREST AND TORUTURED IPOB MEMBERS RETURNING FROM BURIAL OF A MEMBER MURDERED BY NIGERIA POLICE AND ARMY

It is disheartening to hear that Nigeria army and police intercepted and arrested 22 Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) on 26th Feb 2016 who were returning from the burial of one of their brothers by name Nzubechukwu Onwumere who was shot dead on the 9th of February 2016 while praying for the release of leader Nnamdi Kanu and the restoration of Biafra at national high school Aba.
They have killed these unarmed Biafrans, and will not allow their people to bury them. This is the only country where quest for self-determination is interpreted as treason and attending the burial of indigenous people a crime. This is unbelievable. Nigeria is a disgrace to black Africa and a disappointment to democracy.
I am forced by this barbaric act of the  Nigerian army to believe that Nigeria government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has employed released members of Boko haram, to ensure that total annihilation of Biafrans is achieved.
It is important to note here that, over 28 Biafrans were shot dead on 9th January 2016, more than 16 people massacred between 22 Feb. to 24 Feb. 2016 in Ogoni Rivers State, and the killing continues on daily basis. And all these people who has been killed by the Nigerian armed forces must be buried by Biafrans and any attempt to arrest them, must be condemned by all.
On this note, I hereby appeal to Human Right Watch, Amnesty International and other human right organizations to call Nigerian government to order. Self-determination is a universal law; United Nation should stand up to its responsibilities. I also call on the European Union to stand on the part of justice and call for referendum for the freedom of the Indigenous People of Biafra. The right of the indigenous people to self determination is an inalienable right. Why is Nigeria killing Biafrans on the basis that we ask for our right to be independence. Is the agitation not lawful? If it is, why is the United Nations that made that law not saying?

Photo: Bandits execute 12yr old boy after his parents failed to pay ransom for his release

Notorious tribes' army bandits in Wishiffana, west Libya, executed a 12-year-old boy after his parents failed to pay ransom for his release. Abdullah Dagnoush, the only son in his family, was kidnapped two months ago in front of his house in Sayad district. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of LYD 2 million as payment for his release.
After negotiations with the kidnappers, they agreed to reduce the ransom to LYD 500.000, but the family were unable to get the money.
Since Abdullah's father couldn't come up with the money, the bandits killed the boy. They brutally tortured him, hanged him and then left his body on the road.
According to local media, Wirshiffana has become a hub for bandits and criminals, dubbing themselves the tribes' army, since their return the region, which was under the control of Libya Dawn, as per a unilateral ceasefire with Misrata's Al-Halboos and Al-Mirdas brigades.

23-year-old Kirsty Keep who contracted lupus after she was bitten by a bug in her back garden in Maidstone, Kent when she was 12 years old has been bed-ridden for 11 years and has told her family she wants to die in a suicide assisted clinic in Switzerland.
According to her mum she spent three weeks in the hospital after the incident as the bite grew to the side of a hand. By the age of 16, her face was paralysed by Bell’s palsy.
Kirsty also started having seizures 18 months ago and  because of her condition, her immune system attacks healthy cells, tissue and organs. Speaking from her hospital bed, Kirsty said:
“My bones feel like they’re being snapped and my muscles ripped.  “It feels like there’s someone inside me pulling my insides.”
Her mother Theresa believes she was bitten by a tick. She said:
“When she has bad days you feel like you’re watching her go,” said Theresa. “She’s begged me to take her to Switzerland and said she doesn’t want to do it any more.
“That’s not something you want to hear from your daughter. You’re heartbroken every day. “Every few months, when she can’t stop being sick, she has to come into hospital and go on a drip because she’s dehydrated. All she wants is a normal life.

House of Reps to investigate alleged NAPIMS $260m Oil Contract

The House of Representatives yesterday Feb. 24th directed its Committees on Petroleum Upstream and Public Procurement to investigate an alleged $260 million dollars oil contract awarded by the National Petroleum Investment Management Services (NAPIMS), a subsidiary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC.

This directive followed a debate on a motion raised by Rep. Gabriel Kolawole (Akoko South East/South West Federal Constituency, Ondo State  – APC). Hon Kolawole said that NAPIMS, granted approval for Esso Exploration, a subsidiary of Exxon Mobile to award four single source contracts for projects in Exxon Mobil’s Usan Deep water project at the total sum of $260 million without a tendering process.

Thye further explained that NAPIMS had, through three memoranda dated October 13, 2014, February 10, 2015 and April 16, 2015, single handedly nominated four companies to execute the contracts  without approval from both the Board of the NNPC and its Group Executive Committee (GEC).

The joint committees have been given a period of 4 weeks to investigate the matter and report back to the House.

FIFA Appeal Committee reduce football bans of Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini to 6 years, order them to pay fine.

FIFA Appeal Committee reduce football bans of Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini to 6 years, order them to pay fine.

The FIFA Appeal Committee today rejected the appeals of Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini to have their 8 year ban from football by the FIFA independent committee overturned. Instead they reduced their football ban from 8 years to 6 years and ordered both of them to pay CHF 50,000 and CHF 80,000 respectively within 30 days.

In December last year, the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Independent Ethics Committee banned former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and former UEFA President Michel Platini for 8 years after they were both found to illegally conduct financial transactions without official records, hence both men's decision to take their appeal to the FIFA Appeal Committee.

See the FIFA Appeal Committee's full press statement below...
''The FIFA Appeal Committee, chaired by Larry Mussenden (Bermuda), has partially confirmed the decisions taken by the adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee on 17 and 18 December 2015 regarding Joseph S. Blatter and Michel Platini respectively, whose bans have been reduced from eight to six years.''
Following the hearings of Mr Platini and Mr Blatter held in Zurich on 15 and 16 February 2016 respectively, the Appeal Committee has decided as follows: ''Mr Platini’s and Mr Blatter’s appeals are dismissed in respect of infringements of art. 13 (General rules of conduct), art. 15 (Loyalty), art. 19 (Conflict of interests) and art. 20 (Offering and accepting gifts and other benefits) of the FIFA Code of Ethics, as established by the adjudicatory chamber.''
"The Appeal Committee concurred with the findings of the adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee in the sense that the evidence available in the present case is not sufficient to establish a breach of article 21 of the FIFA Code of Ethics (Bribery and corruption). Consequently, the appeal lodged by the investigatory chamber for a life ban from all football-related activity was also dismissed.''
"'While agreeing with the principles and arguments presented by the adjudicatory chamber in its calculation of the sanction, the Appeal Committee determined that some strong mitigating factors for Mr Platini and Mr Blatter were not taken into account when establishing the sanction. In this sense, amongst others, the Appeal Committee considered that Mr Platini’s and Mr Blatter’s activities and the services they had rendered to FIFA, UEFA and football in general over the years should deserve appropriate recognition as a mitigating factor.''
"'Thus, after carefully analysing and taking into consideration the exceptional mitigating circumstances of the cases, it was determined that a one-year reduction of the five-year ban for a breach of art. 20 of the FCE was proper, and similarly a one-year reduction of the three-year ban for the other breaches was also proper.'' In summary: ''Michel Platini is banned from taking part in any football-related activity (administrative, sports or other) at national and international level for a period of six (6) years as from 8 October 2015, in accordance with art. 6 par. 1h) of the FIFA Code of Ethics in conjunction with art. 22 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Furthermore, Mr Platini shall pay a fine in the amount of CHF 80,000 within 30 days of notification of the present decision.'' ''Joseph S. Blatter is banned from taking part in any football-related activity (administrative, sports or other) at national and international level for a period of six (6) years as from 8 October 2015, in accordance with art. 6 par. 1h) of the FIFA Code of Ethics in conjunction with art. 22 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. Mr Blatter shall pay a fine in the amount of CHF 50,000 within 30 days of notification of the present decision.''

FG seeks abolition of visa requirement among the members of the D-8 countries

The Federal Government has called for the abolition of visa requirement among Developing Eight (D-8) member Countries, which are  Nigeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Pakistan and Turkey.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, made the call when he met with the Secretary General of the organisation, Dr Seyed Ali-Mohammed, on Wednesday, in Abuja:
“One area that I think D8 must to work on and if really they want to succeed, they must make sure that there is no barrier in term of visa among those eight countries.
“You cannot grow any trade talk less of tourism, if I cannot have easy access to Malaysia, Egypt, Iran, Pakistan.
“You can imagine the volume of trade that will develop over night if only you can make sure that if I want to go to Iran that there is bilateral agreement between Nigeria and Iran, between Nigeria and Pakistan and among those eight countries that there will be free movement of people.
“It is free movement of people that will guarantee free movement of trade.
“So, this is one area that I believe that you need to work hard on.’’
Mohammed, who commended the organisation’s focus on tourism development, said the provision of infrastructure was critical to the development of domestic tourism.
According to him;
“Until you develop domestic tourism, you cannot have international tourism”.
In his remarks, Ali-Mohammed said the purpose of his visit was to intimate the minister about the organisation’s resolve to focus on tourism development as the area of cooperation among member countries.
“The meeting today I am enthusiastic about tourism.
”Very recently, on the proposal of member states, we came to conclusion that tourism or so could be."
