Ghana set to ban cosmetic products responsible for Skin bleaching

Ghana's Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) is set to ban the sale of cosmetic products which contain the skin bleaching ingredient 'hydroquinone'. The Ban which is to be effective in August this year, will ensure that the products will no longer be imported to the country. This is to deter users of the cancer-causing chemical within the Ghanaian market.

According to FDA spokesperson, James Lartey, all skin lightening products will be banned and products containing hydroquinone will not be allowed into the country. From August 2016, the acceptance for skin lightening products is going to be zero.

Looks like Lamar Odom may be back on hard drugs

Looks like Lamar Odom may be back on hard drugs

Friends of Lamar Odom fear he is back on crack-cocaine...
Lamar Odom's family and friends believe he's back on hard drugs -- and tell us they recently confronted the NBA star and questioned him about crack pipes in his home.
Odom's history with crack is well-documented -- but people close to him thought he'd been scared straight after he overdosed at a Nevada brothel back in October.

But multiple sources close to Odom -- hoping to get through to the NBA star -- tell us he's been acting very strange lately. His friends are convinced he's off the wagon, and for the last few weeks they've been trying to get through to him.
So, a group of people went to his home to convince him to enter rehab -- but Odom scoffed ... telling the group he doesn't need any help. It sounds just like the failed intervention attempt from 2013.
During the confrontation, which took place at Odom's home in Calabasas, we're told his friends noticed drug paraphernalia scattered all over the place ... including crack pipes, baggies and roaches.
We're told the fear is that Odom believes he's invincible -- as evidenced by the fact he's been hitting bars and drinking while still recovering from the damage he suffered from the overdose.

Nigerians will beg APC in 2019 to continue - APC chieftain Tony Momoh says

Former Minister of Information and a chieftain of APC, Prince Tony Momoh, says Nigerians will beg APC to continue in power in 2019. Momoh said this in a recent interview with The Sun. He acknowledged that many Nigerians are suffering but says that within a year or two years from now, the party will be celebrated

"I said within a year or two, you will celebrate us. Infact by 2019, they will be begging us to continue in power. If by 2019, we have thousands of people who are empowered because of the economic programme we have, you think those who are empowered will not vote for us? That’s why I’m saying we have to attend to certain things. They are painful. But we plead for patience. Within a year or two, Nigerians will be celebrating Buhari."he said

74-year-old man allegedly caught molesting a 14-year-old boy in Umuahia (photos)

74-year-old man allegedly caught molesting a 14-year-old boy in Umuahia (photos)

A 74-year-old man identified as Nwoke Simeon Ogbuehi was on Thursday, May 26, caught molesting a 14-year-old pupil. Below is the post shared by Abia State Newspapers along with photos:
"The Umukam Okaiuga Nkwoegwu Autonomous Community in Ohuhu, Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State is in deep shock and fear arising from a bizarre incident and conduct of Chief Magistrate Mirabel C. ken Ahukanna of the Afugiri Magistrate Court in Umuahia North LGA.

The community in recent times has been embroiled in incidences of indecent molestations, sexual assaults and rapes of adolescent males in the community orchestrated by a 74 years old man, Nwoke Simeon Ogbuehi also from the community

Luck however ran out on Ogbuehi on Thursday 26 day of May 2016 when the youths of Okaiuga community caught him in the act forcefully having carnal knowledge of 14 years old JS2 pupil Master Chukwuebuka Uchendu.

The community promptly handed Ogbuehi and his victim to the police at the divisional police station at Afugiri, who then took over the investigation and thereafter arraigned the suspect before the Chief Magistrate Court, Afugiri.

It was at this juncture that the matter took a bizarre turn.

When the case came up before Chief Magistrate Mirabel C. ken Ahukanna and after querying the victim in open court who narrated his repeated ordeals at the hands of Ogbuehi, the chief Magistrate promptly discharged the accused on the grounds that the holding cell at Afara prison has no space to take in further inmates and with that released a suspected pedophile back to the community to continue his dastardly acts.

The victims and community now lives in fear and apprehension as Ogbuehi even within the court premises threatened to get back at the community for exposing and humiliating him.

We call on the relevant authorities in Abia State and the office of the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to quickly intervene and arrest this ugly development before it tarnishes the image of God own state further"

Photos: EFCC arraigns serving Army Chief, ex NIMASA boss, others for N8.5bn fraud

The EFCC today, June 3rd arraigned a serving military officer, Major General Emmanuel Atewe, the former Director General of NIMASA Patrick Ziadeke Akpobolokemi, Kime Engozu and Josphine Otuaga before Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi on an 11 count charge bordering on conspiracy, abuse of office and money laundering.

Major General Atewe, currently serving in TRADOC Minna as Director of Doctrinal and Combat Development, was also a former Guard Brigade Commander at the Presidency as well as Joint Task Force Commander Pulo Shield Port Harcourt.

The Commission received an intelligence report in June 2015 alleging that the management of NIMASA under the leadership of Ziadeke Patrick Akpobokelemi made payments aggregating to the tune of N8,537,586,798.58 to Joint Task Force Operation Pulo Shield’s Zenith Bank Account with substantial part of the money diverted and transferred through several individuals and companies who served as proxies.

Investigations revealed that General Atewe in a grand conspiracy with Akpobokelemi converted about N6,038,350,741 of the initial sum to United States Dollars through various Bureau De Change companies which were handed over to Kime Enzogu and Josephine Otuaga who were business partners to Akpobokelemi and thereafter shared by the defendants.

Part of the money was found to have been used in buying choice properties in Port Harcourt and Abuja as well as acquisition of shares in blue chip companies. Justice Saidu adjourned the case to the 24th of June, 2016, for commencement of trial.
