Kylie Jenner breaks the internet with lipstick range
Kylie Jenner breaks the internet with lipstick range
Move over Kim. Kylie Jenner unveiled her lipstick range and
it sold out in less than 60 seconds. Eager fans desperate to replicate her pout
flocked to the site, LipKitByKylie.com in order to get their hands on
the $29 Lip Kit and the rush resulted in her website crashing. Many were
met with an Error message or told their carts were empty despite having
added the item.
Fans took to Twitter to complain about her site being
down, prompting Kylie to respond: 'Nobody be upset! There's so many
people trying to buy at once so there are some tech issues.'
She added in a subsequent tweet: 'Everybody stand by and keep trying! We r [sic] working on it.'
But Kylie's tweets did little to quell her fans, who were eager to buy the Lip Kit that was two years in the making.
'I typed my credit card info and it kept saying error, stupid because the items where in my cart too... so annoyed tbh,' said one user, who went on to complain about Kylie's lack of apology for the site's problems.
Many other fans said they were not purchasing because of the Lip Kit's price, which was $37 in total when combined with shipping charges.

In an affidavit, federal air marshal Joseph Fialka says Snow's fellow flight attendants told him she was acting erratically. He said they had requested that she not work the flight, but American Airlines management didn't remove her.
Fialka says Snow slapped a flight attendant, grabbed another air marshal's collar and struck him in the chest.

Illegal immigrants sue the state of Oregon over denying them driver's licenses
Illegal immigrants sue the state of Oregon over denying them driver's licenses
The lawsuit, brought by five illegal immigrants, comes after Oregonians passed Measure 88 last year with a strong two-thirds majority. Thirty-five of Oregon’s 36 counties voted against licenses for illegal immigrants as did every congressional district in the state, most of which are represented by Democrats.
But the lawsuit alleges Measure 88 is unconstitutional because it "arbitrarily" denies driving privileges based on membership in a "disfavored minority group." It alleges Oregon voters were motivated by "animus toward persons from Mexico and Central America."
Gustavo Recarde, who has worked construction and odd jobs in Portland and several states since sneaking into the United States in 1988, said a driver's license would help him feel more comfortable here and open doors.
"If an illegal [can] get a driver's license, it would be better because there's more opportunities to find a job as a driver," said Recarde, who is not part of the lawsuit. He said he believes race played a role in the vote. But Cynthia Kendoll, president of Oregonians for Immigration Reform, said it's not the responsibility of Oregonians to make illegal immigrants comfortable or able to drive to jobs they don't legally have.
"They came here by choice, they weren't brought here against their will, and with those choices come hardships," she said.Measure 88 was a public vote that prevents giving "driver's cards" to those who cannot prove they are in the U.S. legally.
The campaign to deny licenses won big despite being outspent 10-to-one.
"People were not swayed by their arguments that they deserve to have a driver's card so they could more easily get to their jobs," Kendoll said. "They're not supposed to be working here."Kendoll said Oregonians were motivated by national security and drug-smuggling by Mexican cartels, not race. Those without papers have not gone through immigration checks, she said, and licenses make it easier to transport narcotics up and down the West Coast.
Norman Williams, associate dean for academic affairs at the Willamette University College of Law in Salem, said:
"The U.S. Supreme Court has been clear that neither legislators nor voters may target a minority group because of their race or ethnicity," he said. The plaintiffs -- five illegal immigrants identified only by their initials -- don't have to prove every Oregon voter was racially motivated, he said.
"They do have to establish there were enough voters who voted 'no' who were prompted to do so because of racial concerns, that could have tipped the balance," he said.Still, Williams said they face an uphill battle.
"Federal judges are very hesitant to strike down state statutes on constitutional grounds," he said.

Suspect missing after being abducted from police cell in Lagos by masked men
Suspect missing after being abducted from police cell in Lagos by masked men
26-year-old musician, Waidi Kabiru, was on Sunday, November 23,
reportedly abducted from Igbogbo Police Station, Lagos State, by a
three-man gang.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the three man gang wore reportedly
masks, sneaked into the station around 1am on Sunday and bundled him out
of the cell.
The state police command confirmed that Waidi, was arrested on Friday,
November 21. but said he had been released on bail. The command,
however, did not disclose the surety to whom the youth was released.
Waidi’s father, Mr. Bisiriyu Kabiru, said he had been visiting his son
since he was arrested on Friday but that he had gone to the station to
give him food on Sunday only to be told that he was no longer inside the
cell.
He said:
“He called me on the phone around 9am on Friday that he was arrested during a raid and I went to the station to see him. One of the policemen I met asked me how much I had to bail him out and I said N4,000. But he told me it wasn’t enough and I left. I later came back with N5,000, but I was told that the DPO had taken over the case.
“On Saturday, I brought food for him (Waidi) at the station and was there till the evening, trying to secure his bail. When I got there on Sunday to give him food, the policemen at the counter said he had gone out with the DPO. But I was not allowed to see the DPO. I later learnt that he was whisked out of the cell early Sunday morning by three men who were masked. It was on Monday that I decided to inform his mother.”
Waidi’s mother, Karimat Adebanbi, said she went to the station on Monday
and was shown a register containing details of suspects.
According to her:
“The policemen I met at the station called my son from the cell, but nobody answered. They checked the register and saw his name there, indicating that he had been released on bail. I asked them who stood as a surety for him, but they refused to tell me. They told me to look for him at his friends’ houses. We don’t know his whereabouts and his number is switched off.
“I went to the station again on Thursday and Saturday to see the DPO; they said he was not around. I called him several times before he picked his call. He said he was somewhere and told me to wait. I waited for hours but he did not come back.”
The family had also petitioned the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai
Owoseni, through an activist, Prince Akinsemoyin, to investigate Waidi’s
disappearance from the cell.
The petition also requested the CP to interrogate the DPO and policemen
involved in the case to unrasvel the circumstances surrounding the
youth’s disappearance.
It read in part:
“I wish to bring to your attention that up till now, the whereabouts of Waidi Kabiru is still unknown. We strongly suspect a foul play in this matter. The time has come to critically investigate the DPO and the role the DPO played in this case. If he has been released, to whom? On what grounds was he released to the surety and what offence was he arrested for?
“We would like the police to produce the surety or else the policemen involved in this matter need to explain his sudden disappearance from Igbogbo police’s custody. This incident is capable of bringing the image of the police to disrepute. We hereby request a full scale investigation into this matter.”
The Lagos State police spokesperson, DSP Joe Offor, said Waidi was not
abducted from the cell, insisting that he had been released on bail. He,
however, said he did not have the knowledge of the name of the surety.
He said:
“It was not true that he was abducted. The suspect was released on bail to an unidentifiable person. The DPO said he had the name of the surety, but he did not disclose the name of the person to me.”
